Calling all musicians and music lovers! Burghfield St Mary’s C of E School is hosting an exciting new afterschool club. The Rock Project, which starts on 4th of November, gives students the opportunity to play guitar, bass, drums or vocals and perform as a band.
With professional, working musicians as teachers, The Rock Project creates star performers in more ways than one. Students are guided by an expert teacher in small groups of up to five before coming together to perform as a band, building up to a full rock concert at the end of the year.
It’s a combination designed to build students’ self-belief as well as their musical skills.
The Rock Project classes are split into junior, for those aged seven to eleven, and senior for 12 to 18-year-olds, to ensure that teaching is tailored to the students’ abilities and experience.
The sessions at will take place every Wednesday as follows:
• Juniors (ages 7-11): 4:30pm – 6:30pm
• Seniors (ages 12-18): 6:30pm – 8:30pm
The Rock Project is the UK’s leading school for children’s contemporary music tuition. Founded in 2005 The Rock Project has more than 30 schools nationwide and works with more than 2,500 students.
